1. Objective and Scope of Policy

CamTrader Inc. (“CamTrader”, weus) is committed to protecting your privacy.  The following policy (“Privacy Policy”, “Policy”) describes how we collect, store, use and distribute information about our Website and service users.

Our goal is to collect, use and disclose only that information reasonably required to enable us to provide the particular product or service that you have requested, to maintain our customer/visitor lists and/or to respond to your inquiries or feedback and for other purposes further described in this Policy. If you have provided us with contact information, we will maintain the confidentiality of your contact information and use it only for the purposes for which we have collected it, unless you agree that we may disclose it to other third parties (subject to the exclusions we have listed below).

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using the CamTrader Website www.camtrader.ca (the “Website”) and/or the CamTrader Services further described in our Terms of Use [TERMS OF USE] (the “Services”), you consent to the collection and use by CamTrader of Personal Information as described in this privacy policy.

3. Collection of Information

Two types of information may be collected on the Website: Personal Information and Non-Personal Information.

Personal Information” means personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, e-mail address, credit card information, birth date and gender.  At the time of collection we will set out clearly the information that we are collecting and the purposes for which we will use it.  It is always your choice whether or not to provide Personal Information.  If you choose not to provide requested Personal Information, you will not be able to use certain features of the Website and/or Services and you will not be able to engage in transactions through the Website.

We collect the following information about you and your use of our Website and Services in order to create a better, more personalized experience for you:

  • a nickname selected by you or assigned by us
  • your email address
  • your name
  • a password selected by you
  • your physical address
  • your phone number
  • your postal or zip code
  • your resume and all information contained therein

The following is a non-exhaustive list of the main means by which CamTrader may collect Personal Information on this Website:

  • Communications from you to CamTrader or to other members;

  • Communications from other members to CamTrader about your activities or postings on the Website;

We also may receive Personal Information from our business partners and other third parties, provided that such third parties confirm to us that their use of the Personal Information conforms to applicable privacy laws.

Non-Personal Information” is information of an anonymous nature, such as an Internet Protocol Address (IP Address), the domain used to access the Website, and the type and version of browser or operating system being used.  Aggregate information, such as demographic statistics of our users (e.g. average age or geographical allocation of our users), number of visitors, what pages users access or visit, average time spent on this Website, and information volunteered by the user, such as survey information, is also considered Non-Personal Information.  Business contact information such as the name, title, business address or telephone number of a business or professional person or an employee of an organization is not considered Personal Information.

Non-Personal Information is collected or derived by us in the course of operating the Website and the Services.  For example, our web servers may automatically collect Non-Personal Information which is provided through your browser or stored on a Cookie when you choose to visit the Website.  We need this information in order to operate the Services, but we do not share it with any third parties. This policy does not restrict our use of Non-Personal Information.

4. Use of Personal Information

CamTrader collects Personal Information mainly for the following purposes:

  • To contact and correspond with you; and
  • To enable your use of the Services.
  • To facilitate and enhance your use of the Website; and
  • To meet legal and regulatory requirements.

Your Personal Information will not be used for any purpose other than those abovementioned without your consent. CamTrader does not actively collect personally identifiable user information for the purpose of sale or marketing in a way that specifically identifies the individual.  In other words: we don’t sell customer lists.

5. Disclosure of Information

CamTrader feels very strongly about keeping the Personal Information you give us confidential.  CamTrader will not share the Personal Information we collect from you with any third party, except as indicated below.

If you add your resume to the Service, you give the rights to CamTrader to make your resume visible to employers who have registered for an account with us.  If you choose to do so, such employers will be able to find your resume in a search and read its contents.  You can remove your resume from the searchable index at any time by emailing CamTrader at [email protected]. Removal will be completed within 7 days.

From time to time we may employ third parties to help us improve our Website and to provide various services (e.g. hosting, database management, maintenance, etc.). These third parties may have limited access to databases of user information or registered member information solely for the purpose of helping us to provide such services.

Important Exceptions

We may disclose your Personal Information to a third party without your consent if we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) our rights or property, other Website users or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities.  We may disclose Personal Information when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is required by and in accordance with the law.

We may also disclose your Personal Information in connection with a corporate re-organization, a merger or amalgamation with another entity, or a sale of all or a substantial portion of our assets provided that the information disclosed continues to be used for the purposes permitted by this Privacy Policy by the entity acquiring the information.

6. Communications from Us

We provide transactional notifications for certain activities relating to your use of our Services despite your indicated e-mail preferences, for example we may send you notices of any updates to our Terms of Use or Privacy Policy. If you opt-in to receive marketing communications from us, we will also keep you up to date on our products and services.  You may withdraw your consent to receiving marketing communications from us at any time by following the opt-out instructions in each communication. You may not use this Website to harvest addresses, send spam or otherwise breach our Terms of Use or Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to automatically scan and manually filter messages sent via our communication tools or Website for malicious activity or prohibited content, but We do not permanently store such messages. We reserve the right to delay messages and/or replies in cases of suspected fraudulent activity or violations of our Terms of Use. We reserve the right to refuse any postings on our Website.

7. Outside Parties and Sites

Through CamTrader, you may be introduced to a variety of third party vendors and websites.  The privacy policies of these third parties are not under our control and may differ from ours.  The use of any information that you may provide to any third party, or the use of “cookie” technology by any third party, will be governed by the privacy policy of the operator of the website that you are visiting.  If you have any doubts about the privacy of the information you are providing on another website, we recommend that you contact that website directly for more information and review its privacy policy.

8. Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us.  We use commercially reasonable efforts to ensure that your Personal Information is stored and maintained in a secure environment.  [In particular, all Personal Information contained in messages sent when using the Services encrypted during transmission to CamTrader using industry standard authentication and encryption technologies.  We protect the Personal Information you give us by putting it behind multiple levels of firewalls, with active intrusion detection systems.] However, it is not possible for CamTrader to guarantee protection against any and all authorized access and disclosure of your personal information.

We will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or in an unsolicited e-mail.

9. Retention

CamTrader will keep your Personal Information for as long as it remains necessary for the identified purposes in Section 4 or as required by law, which may extend beyond the termination of our relationship with you.

You acknowledge and agree that if you request that your name be removed from our databases, it may not be possible to completely delete all your Personal Information due to technological and legal constraints.

10. Amendment of this Policy

If we find it necessary or desirable to change our Privacy Policy in the future, we will post an appropriate notice on the CamTrader Website [www.camtrader.ca].  Any change to this Privacy Policy will become effective 30 days following the date the change is posted and will apply to information collected from the date of the posting of the revised Privacy Policy and to existing information held by CamTrader.  The date on which the latest update was made is indicated at the top of this document.  We recommend that you print a copy of this Privacy Policy for your reference and revisit this policy from time to time to ensure you are aware of any changes.  Your continued use of the CamTrader Website and/or CamTrader Services signifies your acceptance of any changes to this policy.

11. Access and Accuracy

You have the right to access your Personal Information to verify the Personal Information that we have collected in respect of you.  Upon receipt of your written request, we will provide you with a copy of your information.  We will make every reasonable effort to keep your Personal Information accurate and up-to-date, and we will enable you to revise the Personal Information as appropriate.  Having accurate Personal Information about you enables us to give you the best possible service.

12. Additional Privacy Protections for Children

CamTrader joins the industry in recognizing that children, including young teens, may not be able to make informed choices about Personal Information requested online.  Accordingly, CamTrader does not target children or those younger than 14 years of age for collection of information online.  CamTrader does not solicit or collect Personal Information targeted at children and individuals younger than 14.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
