2023 Themes of Canada Gas & LNG
Demonstrating Canada’s leadership and expertise in the global gas industry, Canada Gas & LNG emphasizes the positive role LNG plays in the resilience of the Canadian natural resource economy.

The strategic conference at Canada Gas & LNG provides speakers with the opportunity to address the latest benefits and challenges of a rapidly developing and dynamic market; offering a high-level platform to enhance and refine the Canadian natural gas and LNG narrative. Featuring a robust three-day program with influential leaders from the world’s leading energy industry, the conference plays host to senior-level delegates each year.

CANADA’S OPPORTUNITY

Developing Canada’s massive gas reserves and exporting through LNG would achieve both economic development and a transition to cleaner energy solutions. Job creation and business opportunities would be unprecedented and would give Canada a global opportunity to showcase its ESG principles. The time is now to focus on Canada and its international impactive, and LNG’s role in decarbonization by providing a clear domestic definition and vision for the future.

RECONCILIATION AND PARTNERSHIP

LNG projects have provided an opportunity for industry and First Nations communities to advance toward reconciliation, but with much work yet to do. There remain challenges between industry and First Nations communities in the areas of procurement, employment and training, and the environment, but there have also been many success stories to share and learn from.

LEADERSHIP AND INVESTMENT

How to get projects to FID is still a burning question, and reigniting investor interest in Canadian projects is a priority for the sector. Securing long-term buyers that are well placed to service the growing Asian demand for cleaner natural gas to replace coal. As the world scrambles for gas, Canada can take a leadership position as a globally responsible producer of geopolitically stable natural gas.

ENABLING NEW ENERGY FORMATS AND AN INTEGRATED GAS APPROACH

As the world electrifies and projects scale to support global energy demand, the need  for reliable, affordable and easily transported and mobile energy is vital for our energy future. While we transition to a net zero future using alternative fuels such as hydrogen and ammonia to power us and keep us warm, gas will be a key bridging fuel that will enable the energy transition
