About the Role
We are seeking for Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer’s to join our team within areas such as Lower Completions, Petroleum, and Geothermal. You will work within a fast paced, mutli-project environment designing new and innovative technology for use in downhole tools specifically packers. A successful candidate will possess a very strong mechanical aptitude and be able to think outside the box. The position will entail conceptualization, engineering, drafting, assembly, testing and documentation.

Key Responsibilities and Duties*
- Manage design projects from conceptualization to production
- Perform and document Engineering calculations on mechanical parts and assemblies
- Manage and maintain design documents following American Petroleum Industry (API) standards
- Assist in the design and documentation of test assembly facilities and processes with manufacturing and engineering
- Assemble and qualify new tools using testing methods such as function, pressure and system integration testing
- Write and maintain technical documents on tool properties, schematics, and assembly procedures
- Create and document project schedules and progress
- Maintain electronic files for assembly and part drawings
- Create technical models for sales and marketing purposes
- Provide technical input for the design and redesign of downhole tools
- Support with guiding junior team members
- Participate with the engineering group to help solve technical problems
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology
- 2+ years Experience in Engineering Design in a manufacturing environment for oil and gas downhole completion or service equipment
- Ideal candidate will have knowledge of completions, coiled tubing, fracturing and steam injection operations
- Proficient in SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Experience with precision measuring equipment, tolerancing and part interconnectivity
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven self-starter with an ability to work independently
- Possess a team-oriented attitude with a willingness to step out of the box when necessary
