President-elect Joe Biden has indicated plans to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline permit on his first day in office. The decades-long project would move oil from Alberta, Canada to Nebraska, and has faced challenges from environmental groups and several legal issues in the United States. Former President Barack Obama ended the project in 2015, arguing that Canada would gain most of the economic benefits and that the project would add to greenhouse gas emissions.
